Crazy Quilting

This past summer I took an online crazy quilting class.  I mostly was interested in how to piece the fabric.  It didn't occur to me that the piecing is only a small part of it.  It is really about embroidery and embellishing the quilt. So for the last 7 months I have been working on my first crazy quilt.  The class I took is called Crazy Quilting taught by Allie Aller (a well known crazy quilter, blogger and author).  I highly recommend it.
This is what my first 4 blocks started as, before I added the embroidery.  I added another 2 blocks to make it larger.  I probably should have just done the 4 blocks for my first project.
I finally finished tying and stitching the binding closed last week.  I already have plans on doing other ones and different techniques I want to try. I did a little silk ribbon embroidery on this, but I want to learn more.  It can be so beautiful.

January - Naomi is 2

Naomi Turns 2

Our cute little baby has grown up to be a toddler. She is changing and showing personality more of her personality. She Loves her big sister. The two girls play together better each month.  There is far less crying coming from Naomi since is able to play with Allyson instead of getting trampled or other things.  It is so fun to hear two little girls giggling as they run around in circles, take baths, and  jump on the couch.

She is still a sweet little girl.  She loves to see her substitute "grandma" in our LDS Branch.  She is always there to give her a hug, since her grandmas are far away and this woman's grand kids are far away too.

Allyson is learning how to use a camera, when I am not looking.

Lots more play doh time this month.
She just wanted to do what mommy does.

December

I got far behind due to the holidays.  So here is a rewind to December.
There was snow. Naomi had her first winter where she could walk in the snow.
The girls met Santa.
Christmas Eve dinner.  Allyson did not eat even a third of that.
Christmas morning Naomi was happy to find some of her favorite things. Something to put on her head, a baby, and a shopping cart for her baby.  Thank you to the loved ones that gave her those things.  She loves them.
Allyson has been into play doh lately.  They spend a lot of time doing the above.  Since they are not that good, I get to help them a lot.          /
